Police Blotter – I accidently cut it

  • Sunday, June 22, 2014

Police were called to a home in reference to an assault and when they arrived they found a woman with a bandage around her arm. According to a report, they asked her to step outside and show them her injury. She removed the bandage and blood squirted out of the wound and all over her shirt, the report said.

The officer called for EMS and put on gloves to help apply pressure to the laceration.

She told the officer that she cut her arm herself and that it happened accidently while slicing a watermelon. The police report noted the woman seemed extremely intoxicated.

She was taken to the hospital. The woman's sister arrived on the scene and told police that she was at a neighbor's house drinking when a friend came over and said she had been attacked by sister one and she was leaving.

Sister two went to confront sister one and she said she was the one attacked, the report said.

Sister two told sister one she did not believe her because their friend is not one to fight. At this point, the report stated that sister one got a knife and started sawing away at her own forearm and said, “Now do you believe me?”

Police went to speak with the friend who said she was pushed and shoved when she questioned sister one about a monetary issue. She was able to escape the sister and left the area. She said she did not want to press charges because sister one was going through enough in her life. When questioned about the laceration on sister one's arm, the friend said she knew nothing about that, the report said.

Police were called to the hospital because sister one was being combative, but by the time they arrived, medical staff had her calmed down and bandaged up. Sister two came and got her and took her home.
