A loss prevention officer at a local store called police after he suspected a customer of stealing. According to the report, the officer saw the customer in the store with several items and the suspect was wearing a large backpack.
He was seen walking towards the toy section when the loss prevention officer lost sight of him. Moments later, the customer was seen allegedly leaving the toy section without the items in his hand.
When police arrived, the customer denied stealing anything, the report said. The suspect said he had purchased several bags of candy, however.
He gave consent for the officers to search his bag, and he produced the candy with a receipt. He also had a spray bottle which he had a receipt for as well.
According to the report, several tools were located in the backpack but could not be traced back to this particular store.
Regardless, the loss prevention officer placed him on trespass notice. The police told the loss prevention officer to call them back should he come across anymore evidence of a possible theft.
