Where can you find pink four-story homes with entrances adorned with palm trees and built-in hamster doors? A kids painting camp, that's where.

Held at the R.L. Jones Center, Diana Connors' Back Porch Art taught kids techniques and the intricacies of using a paintbrush.

Each day, kids contructed different masterpieces.

Monday's painting was Olaf from the Disney picture “Frozen;” Tuesday's depicted the famous “minions” from “Despicable Me,” and Wednesday's was Charleston's Rainbow Row, located on East Bay Street.

“I would have to live in a house with some colors,” said camp attendee Mary-Coline Harris, admiring her artwork.

Yellow and blue homes were decked with double-door entrances, framed windows and flower pots.

Camp attendee Mary Coleman was kind enough to add doggy and hamster doors for pets.

“They're so into it,” said Connors of her young artists.

“They come up with ideas and cool things that I don't think of.”

It was the kids' idea to add a crescent moon in the night sky that serves as the Rainbow Row paintings' backdrop.

Ema Bellino, a volunteer, expressed her astonishment at the kids' pro-like material.

“Some kids are seven years old and make them (paintings) look like a 30-year-old did it,” Bellino said. Back Porch Art literally began on Connors' back porch. Now, she travels and hosts painting parties for youth and adults. Her newest addition is the “Paint that Shape” wooden door ornament for adult painting parties.
