Local cadet graduates from West Point

Second Lieutenant Lee PROVIDED

Cadet Jonathan James Lee, son of J. Lewis Lee and Cindy Bolt-Lee of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, graduated from the United States Military Academy on Wednesday, May 28.

Lee received degrees in both economics and operations research, graduating with honors. He was a member of the international Sandhurst Competition squad, a coed event structured to showcase military skills and leadership. Lee was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army within the Army Aviation branch and will report to Fort Rucker, Alabama for his first assignment.

The mission of the United States Military Academy is to educate, train and inspire the Corps of Cadets so that each graduate is a commissioned leader of character committed to the values of duty, honor and country and prepared for a career of professional excellence and service to the nation as an officer in the United States Army.
