The future right on your wrist

  • Sunday, July 6, 2014

A red light comes from the device, alerting me that the mini-USB cord plugged into my electric outlet is charging my new Martian Notifier smart watch which communicates with my iPhone's app.

Soon it will be communicating with the app on my iPhone and Kindle and linking me to my next interview.

With the Martian Notifier you get smart notifications plus Caller ID, SMS, emails, social media, fitness stats, travel and other alerts you want to show on a watch.

You can customize vibration patterns. Also, you can use voice commands remotely on your smart phone's speaker.

Camera remote control is available as you trigger your phone's camera to snap pictures with everyone in the shot with you. There is Martian Leash, silent alarms, hour repeater, world clock, weather and more.

It comes with a micro USB cable and quick connect guide.

Dick Tracy is here.

The Notifier comes in white, red and black. There are notifications from thousands of apps with no SDK required.

Ever lost your iPhone? My family members accuse me of this, sometimes three or four times a day. This way you cannot have an excuse when your Martian Notifier buzzes your wrist.

You can see who is calling you with vibration, and you will be told the caller's name or number. You raise your arm and shake your wrist to decline the call if it is a bill collector.

Best Buy is now selling these watches, and also Bloomingdale's has them. Also try Meijer.

You can see Twitter alerts or emails from the boss.

It has a graphic LED display with 96-by-16-pixels resolution plus a built-in rechargeable lithium-polymer battery with up to five days of use for operation.

A separate analog watch battery keeps the watch running for up to two years.

There is a PC and Mac connectivity for software updates.

Also there is a one-year warranty on parts and the same on labor.

Martian Watches received the Best of CES in 2013 as one of 28 finalists in the CES Awards, and it was one of the five Best Travel Gadgets from CES 2013.

The Inquisitr voted it one of the Top 10 Coolest Things at the 2013 at CES.

USA Today Tech voted it one of five staff picks of the Best New Gadgets of CES.

Martian Watches was founded in 2007, and its engineering team now works with Bluetooth development. In 2010, they created a new wireless tech platform with Orange Dot Technologies and its first product, SilverCare, won a lot of awards. In 2012, they created the world's first voice-command watch.
