CARTA to give away free bus passes

  • Monday, July 7, 2014

The Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) will be giving away free bus passes at randomly selected CARTA bus stops each Tuesday throughout the summer.

“This is our way of saying thank you to all of our passengers,” said CARTA Marketing Director Michelle Emerson. “We are fortunate to have loyal riders who keep coming back and promote the use of public transportation in the community.”

The passes can be handed out any time of day, so riders are encouraged to be alert and ready to win. Clues may also be posted on the authority's Facebook page and Twitter account, @ridecarta.

CARTA's average weekday average ridership is more than 14,000.
