Local pitmaster to make national TV debut

All-star BBQ pitmaster Jack Waiboer will make his national television grilling debut on the reality TV series “American Grilled” on the Travel Channel on July 30.

Waiboer, a three-time South Carolina state champion and owner of the Carolina Pit Masters Barbecue Cooking School lives in the Oakbrook area of North Charleston. Jack will fire up the grill in Savannah, Georgia and represent the Charleston Lowcountry on this new competition grilling series competing against three other great grillers from the general area.

Jack Waiboer is one of the tri-county's most prolific live-fire personalities. Jack has won more than 13 grand championships and three South Carolina state championships. Tune in to the Travel Channel on Wednesday, July 30 and see if Jack has what it takes to burn down the competition on Travel Channel's American Grilled.

“Being on American Grilled was a live-fire dream come true. It was a tremendous trip and a fantastic competition. The show is all about combining local flavors and superior grilling techniques to produce winning plates for a very well-qualified set of judges. I had a blast cooking hot and fast and showing off a set of unique grilling skills,” said Waiboer.

The Carolina Pit Masters are a group of professional barbeque cooks with common beliefs in giving back to the community and preserving the heritage of traditional barbeque. They partner with charitable organizations to assist in fundraising activities and teaching the joy of cooking southern barbeque.
