The Planters Inn, located in the heart of Charleston's famed historic district, has been named Travel and Leisure's No. 1 “Top Small-City Hotel” in the continental United States as part of its 2014 World's Best Awards readers' survey.
The annual survey, which polls discerning readers worldwide, showcases the world's top hotels, destinations and companies that define the very best in travel. Among the hotels category, the list of “Top Small-City Hotels” recognizes the country's finest establishments housing fewer than 100 rooms, with Planters Inn hitting this year's list at No. 1.
“To be recognized by the savvy and sophisticated readers of Travel and Leisure is an honor, and we are deeply grateful and proud to be celebrating the hard work and dedication of our extraordinary team,” says Hank Holliday, owner of Planters Inn.
The Planters Inn will join all top winners of Travel and Leisure's 2014 World's Best Awards on Thursday, July 24, where each category will be honored at a special ceremony hosted by Nancy Novogrod, editor-in-chief, and Jay Meyer, vice president and publisher, in New York City.
The Travel and Leisure 2014 World's Best Awards survey results are available now on www.travelandleisure.com and on newsstands in the August issue of Travel and Leisure.
