Charleston County Council announces the following vacancies on boards and commissions (applications accepted through Monday, July 14


Accommodation Tax Advisory Committee

Three vacancies, applicants must reside in unincorporated Charleston County and preference will be given to those residing in unincorporated West Ashley and Johns Island

Board of Assessment Appeals

Four vacancies

Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission

Two vacancies

Community Development Advisory Board

One vacancy for a representative from the financial sector

One vacancy for a representative from the legal sector

Construction Board of Adjustment and Appeals

One vacancy for a licensed electrical contractor

One vacancy for a resident state fire marshal

Firemen’s Insurance and Inspection Fund

Four vacancies for St. Andrews Public Service District

Four vacancies for Awendaw Consolidated Fire District

Charleston County Forestry Board

One vacancy

Charleston County Library Board of Trustees

One vacancy

Procurement Appeals Board

Four vacancies

St. Andrew’s Parks and Playground Commission

Two vacancies for residents of St. Andrew's Public Service District

St. Paul’s Fire District Commission

One vacancy for a resident of Meggett

One vacancy for a resident of Edisto Island

One vacancy for a resident of Hollywood

Charleston County Council encourages citizens of Charleston County who are willing to volunteer to serve on one of these important boards to submit an application for appointment. Applications will be considered by the Finance Committee of Charleston County Council at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 24. The committee will make recommendations to fill these vacancies to full council, and county council will vote on those recommendations at a meeting to be held on Tuesday, July 29.
