The Moultrie News and the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department (MPRD) come together each week to feature a local track or cross-country athlete from East Cooper as part of MPRD spotlight.

Grace Murray is a member of the Mount Pleasant Track Club. Murray, 12, competes in the long jump, discus throw and 80-meter hurdles.

If you could be anyone for a day, who would you be?

Murray: I would be Allyson Felix.

What's your favorite Mount Pleasant restaurant?

M: Yamato.

What's the best moment of your athletic career?

M: The best moment is competing.

What's the best advice you've received from a coach?

M: To do my best.

What do you look forward to most about being an adult?

M: Going to the Olympics in the long jump.

What are the most difficult, and what are the most fun aspects of track?

M: The most fun is the long jump. The hardest is the conditioning.

What is your favorite movie and TV show?

M: “Cake Boss” and “Divergent”

If you could have dinner with any three people, who would you choose?

M: Jackie Kennedy, Lilly Pulitzer and Allyson Felix.
