Mount Pleasant author releases first novel

Holladay House Publishing announced the release of fiction novel “Rocks, Paper, Flowers” by Katie Sullivan, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, on July 15.

The book tells the story of Megan O'Malley Moller who lost her mother to cancer at age 16. One of six siblings, she grew up in a strict Irish Catholic family in Ohio. Each year, Megan and her sisters, Helen and Fiona, go on a girls' trip with their dear friend Suson Fuson. Twenty-five years after their mother's death, the women decide to make this year's trip a visit to their mother's grave in Dubuque, Iowa. The endearing and comical relationship between these four women, and the love they share, proves to be the greatest gift their mother gave them.

The official “Rocks, Paper, Flowers” release party will be held on July 17 in Mount Pleasant at The Sanctuary Hall and Gardens (2125 Highway 17 North). Sponsored by Holladay House Publishing and The Sanctuary Hall and Gardens venue, the event will be open to the public from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m. The event will include a special reading and author presentation.
