Bridges for End-of-Life welcomed Lynn Greer as the new executive director on July 1. Ms. Greer's appointment to this full-time position ends the organization's five-year period with a part-time executive officer and expands the capacity to address its mission.
With more than 25 years of experience in senior management in the North and South Carolina nonprofit arenas, Ms. Greer most recently spent seven years in the banking industry.
“I am excited to again be working in the nonprofit sector with such an outstanding organization as Bridges,” said Greer. “Building on its 30-year history in this community, I will focus on continuing with the expanded mission to fill unmet needs for end-of-life resources.”
In addition to her new role with Bridges, Ms. Greer is the incoming chair of the board of directors of the South Carolina Association of Nonprofit Organizations (SCANPO), after having served six years as a board member and a term as treasurer. She has a long history of involvement with numerous civic and nonprofit groups. Serving in many leadership positions, she has worked with volunteers as well as directly with children, people with disabilities and other consumers.
Formerly Hospice of Charleston Foundation (and prior to that Hospice of Charleston), Bridges is a 30-year-old leader in the end-of-life field. The organization provides a number of services that a 2013 needs assessment identified as otherwise lacking in the community.
