Police responded to a complaint of theft at a local home. The call came in from Dunes West Security.
The officer met with the victim who said he invited his friend over for a cookout. He went to the bathroom, and when he came out, he allegedly saw that his friend had taken $200 off his dresser and was attempting to leave the residence.
He said he confronted his friend as he was trying to maneuver his car around other cars in the driveway that were blocking him. When he couldn’t do that, he just drove over the grass, the police report said.
He then told the officer he did not want a report nor did he want to press charges.
The officer then asked the victim why he called the police and he responded that he didn’t.
The victim said Dunes West Security did because his friend was driving recklessly.
The officer asked the victim about the others in the house and he named them all. The officer then asked to see the area where the money was taken and the victim again said he did not want to make a report or press charges. He added that he would rather the officer not enter the residence, the report said.
A report was completed anyway, due to the nature of the offense and the victim said he would not offer any other information concerning the incident.
