College of Charleston swimming coach Bora Yatagan has announced the 2014-15 meet schedule.

The Cougars will be competing in their second season in the elite CAA swimming and diving conference. Last season, Charleston had another year of outstanding team and individual accomplishments, including the women’s team’s first meet win over UNCW since 1982, two CAA individual gold medals and a championship meet record by graduated senior Sarah Boyle and the first dual meet sweep of Davidson in school history.

“We have another strong schedule for our 2014-15 season,” said Yatagan. “We will continue to improve in the challenging CAA conference and our schedule will prepare us well for the conference meet. Our younger swimmers and divers posted outstanding performances last year and we know they will continue to improve this season.”

After an alumni meet on Sept. 27 and an intrasquad meet on Oct. 4 at the Stern Center, the Cougars hit the road for the fall season, traveling to ECU, Davidson, George Mason and South Carolina.

On Nov. 20, the Cougars travel to Charlotte, North Carolina, for the annual Wingate Fall Frenzy. Last season, the Cougar men placed first and the women were second at the Frenzy.

Charleston opens 2015 at Georgia Southern and Savannah College of Art and Design on Jan. 17.

That meet is followed by the annual Senior Weekend and Parents Weekend celebration at the Stern Center. College of Charleston hosts Gardner-Webb on Jan. 23-24, with action starting on Friday night at 6 p.m. Clemson will take part in diving-only action on Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

After a meet at UNCW on Jan. 31, the conference championship meets begin with the CAA Diving Championship on Feb. 21-22 at the University of Delaware. The CAA Swimming Championship will be Feb. 25-28 at the Greater Richmond Aquatics Partnership (GRAP). Last season, the College of Charleston men placed sixth while the women finished seventh.
