‘Southern Charm’ and cloud-based storage

  • Thursday, July 24, 2014

Imagine my surprise and delight when I learned that “Southern Charm” stars Thomas Ravenel and Kathryn C. Dennis would be back on Bravo TV.

This season I’ll have a better avenue of capturing this captivating television show with a storage device designed to hold more and move data faster.

D-Link has released a wickedly fast dual-band gigabit cloud router, the Wireless-AC1900.

There is a QRS Mobile app to use with it.

On May 6, Seagate Technology announced its new Wireless Plus mobile device storage with 500 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB versions. You can use this bad boy or bad girl with cloud services like Dropbox and Google Drive.

Stream HD video and free up space on your Android tablet, iPad, iPhone, Android smart phone, Kindle Fire, Windows 8 computer or Windows RT tablet. Of course there is a Seagate Media App.

It has a USB 3.0 adapter with detachable cable, plus a USB to DC cable, quick-start guide and a three-year limited warranty.

The battery life for video with 500 files is 12 hours, seven hours for 160,000 files of music, six hours for photos including 190,000 JPEG files at 5 MB apiece and 640,000 files of documents at 1.5 MB apiece.

Get a load of this. Wireless Plus lets you use the files up to 150 feet away, tethered and with its own Wi-Fi network.

Up to eight tablets and smartphones can store and access its content.

It will work with a Blu-ray player or PS3. Use DLNA to stream or SAMBA and UPnP. Don’t format it. It is a cross-platform device.

As Wolf Blitzer is talking about the fallen jet, I’m learning about my setup to get season two of the show that has Charleston County aflame. Their baby is so cute. Those two need to get married. Whitney’s mom is hot, I think, Patricia.

With my storage, I can play season one of “Southern Charm” and store it without running out of space.
