Mount Pleasant 12U finishes sixth in Southeast

Mount Pleasant 12U all-stars finished sixth overall in the Cal Ripken Southeast Regional championships last week in Lewisburg, Tennessee.

Mount Pleasant finished the tournament 3-2 in pool play, getting off to a 3-1 start before falling to eventual region champion Atlantic Beach, Florida. The all-stars led Atlantic Beach, 8-1, in the second inning of the elimination game before falling in just their second loss of the season.

The Mount Pleasant 10U all-stars finished 2-3 overall in the Matthews, North Carolina regional. Mount Pleasant led region champion Sarasota, Florida, 2-0, in the fourth inning of its elimination game.

The 11U all-stars were unable to win a game, finishing 0-3 in the Altamonte Springs, Florida regional.

The 12-team regional tournament fields featured the top youth teams from Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Alabama.
