Search called off

Manhunt called off but suspect remains at large, authorities say.

According to Eric Watson with the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, according to deputies on scene, about 10:45 a.m., they were involved in a vehicle pursuit with a suspect that evaded apprehension sometime last night, he said. The suspect’s vehicle, is describe as a Red Ford Mustang. During this pursuit, the suspect’s vehicle blew one of its front tire and the suspect fled on foot behind the Lowes in Mount Pleasant. The suspect is described as a black male 5’05”, about 130-140 lbs, between the ages of 19 -25. “Our air unit and patrol deputies are patrolling the area searching for the suspect. The car is rental from Hertz Rental,” Watson added.
