The following Virginia Military Institute cadet is among the 317 cadets who graduated May 16. William C. Hyman Jr. of Charleston, South Carolina, received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a philosophy minor. Cadet Hyman graduated with distinction. Cadet Hyman’s parent is Ms. Sarah E. Kenan.

Rice University

Austin Jarvis of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, graduated May 17 from Rice University. Jarvis received a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture.

The Citadel has announced the names of cadets honored for outstanding academic achievement during the spring 2014 semester. Dean’s List recognition is earned by those registered for 12 or more semester hours whose grade point ratio is 3.2 or higher with no grade below a C for the previous semester’s work.

The Georgia Institute of Technology presented degrees to approximately 2,700 undergraduate and graduate students during the Institute’s 247th commencement exercises. Local graduates include:

Crown Leadership Academy

Crown Leadership Academy is pleased to announce the class of 2014 graduates:

Madeline Paige Ludwig-McLaughlin, daughter of Caroline McLaughlin and Anthony Ludwig, will attend Michigan State University in the fall. She will major in animal biology through the pre-veterinary program.

Caroline McKaimy Warner is the daughter of Catherine and Chris Warner and will attend the Honors College of Biola University with a major in psychology.
