First Federal, the fifth and final brand to become part of South State Bank, unveiled its new sign at its office located at 855 Savannah Highway in Charleston, the second oldest First Federal branch, and at 690 Bacons Bridge Road in Summerville.
On Monday, July 21, the bank officially converted to South State Bank, joining 135 banking locations in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. First Federal opened its first office in downtown Charleston in 1934 and currently operates banking locations in Beaufort, Berkeley, Charleston, Dorchester, Florence, Georgetown and Horry counties in South Carolina.
