Police Blotter – Acting psychotic

  • Saturday, August 2, 2014

A mother had to call police because her son had allegedly been smoking pot and acting psychotic. She said he had just returned from a trip to Florida and could not explain his behavior. According to the report, she told the officer, “You’ll have to see for yourself.”

The officer went inside and asked the boy to come downstairs. The officer asked him if everything was okay, and according to the report, he said that he was just trying to go to bed. When asked if he had taken any drugs, he said he had not. According to the report, his eyes were glassy and bloodshot.

He answered most of the officer’s questions, but when asked his middle name, he said “H,” pointed to his father and said, “It’s on his card.”

According to the report, he then said, “I was using it for money, but I ran out and missed a toll because I was on a toll road.” Now pointing at his mother, he continued to say, “I told her that.”

It was at this point that the mother’s concerns became clear, the officer wrote in his report.

EMS was called and they decided the son needed to be taken to the hospital. At this point, the kid became unsure and weary of the presence of EMS, the report said. He kept saying his parents told him to go to bed and that’s what he wanted to do.

They ended up having to restrain him to transport him.
