WHO: Palmetto Goodwill WHAT: e-waste roundup and shred event WHEN: Saturday, August 16 between 9 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. WHERE: Computer Works, 6813 Rivers Avenue

New government regulations have made it increasingly difficult to recycle computers and other electronics. When Goodwill receives a computer donation, the hard drive is wiped completely clean then refurbished for resale. Computers that cannot be refurbished are entered into the Dell Reconnect program for retrieving usable spare parts and responsible recycling.

Through the resale of these donations, proceed benefit Goodwill job training and placement programs for thousands of individuals in our communities including people with disabilities and other disadvantages. The Computer Works store also sells refurbished cell phones, gaming systems, printers and other electronics.
