Southcoast Community Bank representatives receiving their award

No symbol inspires respect and love of country more than the American flag.

One of the programs of service for the Exchange Club of Mount Pleasant is to promote Americanism. One of the ways the members do this is through their Proudly We Hail Program which encourages Americans to fly the American flag. Each year, the club chooses an individual or business to honor for properly and regularly displaying the Stars and Stripes. Those chosen are presented with a beautifully engraved plaque presented at a special club meeting.

This year’s business recipients was Southcoast Community Bank on Coleman Boulevard. The residential award went to Brig. Gen. Hugh B. Tant III and his wife Lt. Col. Christine Lee Tant. Both have proudly flown the American flag, complete with lighting, on a regular basis.
