Lowcountry Bistro’s chef to compete in Shrimp & Grits Competition

Shrimp and Grits – it's a Charleston staple, and one that Lowcountry Bistro's Chef Matt Paul has perfected over time. On Aug. 30, Chef Paul will get the opportunity to showcase his famed recipe at the first annual Shrimp and Grits Charleston, a chef's competition benefiting the Charleston Animal Society.

“It's truly an honor to be competing against some of Charleston's most-renowned chefs for a great local cause,” said Chef Paul. Chef Paul's shrimp and grits dish will be made with grilled jumbo shrimp, parmesan and chive grits, and a smoked tomato and bacon sauce. Shrimp and Grits Charleston will take place on Saturday, Aug. 30 from 7-10 p.m. at the Charleston Visitor's Center. In addition to the chef's competition, the event will also feature live music, sponsor booths and cookbook signings. Tickets are now available to purchase online for $30, and will be available at the door for $35. Tickets for children 12 and under are also available for $12.
