Local grapplers compete in tourney

On Saturday, Aug. 9, Coach Bill Dillard, owner of CheckMat Charleston Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, took several of his adult and junior students to Florence, South Carolina to compete at the North American Grappling Association tournament. All the guys and gals competed in multiple matches and enjoyed a lot of success.

After a long, tough day of grappling, CheckMat Charleston brought home seven gold medals, four silver medals and three bronze medals. In addition to the medal winnings, three competitors won their entire divisions at this prestigious grappling tournament.
