Learning Express Toys, the nation’s largest educational toy retailer, welcomes its newest franchise to Mount Pleasant, South Carolina on Friday, Aug. 22. In conjunction with the grand opening, local owners Ken, Leah and Kelly King are partnering with Headbands of Hope! For every headband purchased, one is given to a girl with cancer, and $1 is donated to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to fund life-saving childhood cancer research.
“All headbands that are donated will go to the girls at our local hospital,” says owner Kelly King. “After our grand opening, more than 75 headbands and buffs will be given to the girls and boys in the Pediatric Cancer Program at MUSC Hollings Cancer Center...”
Located at 1903 Highway 17 N, Suite 102 (adjacent to the Towne Centre), the Learning Express of Mount Pleasant also will be offering several doorbusters and discounts, Friday through Sunday. Throughout the three days, there will be door prizes, face painting and visits from Elmo, Cupcake the Clown, Queen Elsa and Princess Anna.
Kelly, who will oversee all aspects of the store, will be operating the store on a day-to-day basis with her childhood best friend, Alex Strang. “Mount Pleasant is a thriving and growing community in which Alex and I are happy to be a part of and call home,” says Kelly.
