Ray Fischer, of Mount Pleasant will take his Vegas Shows on the road and will be holding a fundraising event celebrating the military on Friday, Aug. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at Sterett Hall Auditorium in North Charleston.
Fundraising and community relations events are time-honored traditions of the Chief Petty Officer Initiation and build both teamwork and pride as well as spreading goodwill in the community.
It's not unusual to see a group of “selects” washing cars on a hot Saturday afternoon, but this year, the new chief select's will be holding a different type of fundraiser.
Ray Fischer's The Vegas Shows will be holding a benefit concert called “Hail to the Chiefs, an Evening with Elvis and Friends” which features ITC (SEL) Gil Downer who will be performing with Fischer as Garth Brooks. Joining Garth, Elvis and the Vegas Show Band on stage will be Kenny Rogers, Willie Nelson and Dolly Parton. A sell-out crowd is expected and organizers hope to see many current and retired military members in the audience as well as many special guests and dignitaries. A portion of the proceeds will go to charity. Tickets can be purchased at the door, online at www.rayfischersthevegasshows.com or by calling the “Elvis Hotline” at 775-285-SHOW (7469). Tickets are $15 in advance $20 at the door.
For the past 20 years Ray Fischer has recreated the magnetism of Elvis Presley. Fischer not only captures the voice and charisma of Elvis Presley, but brings an uncanny likeness and style to his live performances.
