Helena Fox Fine Art, LLC, is pleased to announce the opening of its upcoming exhibition entitled, “The Color of Light” with the Plein Air Painter’s of America (PAPA). The opening reception will be Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, from 5 to 8 p.m. The exhibit will be on display until Saturday, Nov. 28.
This show is the second in a series of four annual exhibits that introduces and showcases the fine works by this nationally renowned group of 30 members and artists to the southern states.
These select members are hailed as America’s finest painters in the Plein Air tradition. Helena Fox Fine Art wants to honor these signature members of PAPA and promote their dedication to this tradition of painting.
Each annual exhibit will showcase works by 12 PAPA members and pay homage to the regions and genre to which they paint. Through observation, sight, sound, understanding light, atmosphere and composition, these masters take in what many see as ordinary and create extraordinary works of fine art.
“They are highly trained and skilled, using nature in their quest to capture the fragile yet harmonious balance between our common experience and the challenges to compose great works of art,” remarks gallery owner, Helena Fox.
Helena Fox Fine Art is honored to host the works of the second group of nationally recognized PAPA members: John Cosby, Gil Dellinger, Donald Demers, Kathleen Dunphy, West Fraser, Joseph McGurl, Ray Roberts, Ned Mueller, Billyo O’Donnell, Lorenzo Chavez, Gay Faulkenberry, Matt Smith and Brian Stewart.
The exhibition reflects the lifetime each artist has dedicated to creating fine art that captures the essence of place through their keen observation and treatment of subject and light.
Helena Fox Fine Art is located in historic downtown Charleston at 106A Church St. The event and exhibit are free and open to the public.
In October, all pieces can be seen online at www.helenafoxfineart.com.
