Wesley Vanderhorst - DOB: December 21, 1992

On August 21 the Mount Pleasant Police Department responded to a burglary call on Carriage Lane where a victim saw two black males exit the rear of his home, according to a police statement.

Inspector Chip Googe, Public Information Officer for the Mount Pleasant Police Department said an officer observed a vehicle leaving the neighborhood at a high rate of speed and initiated a traffic stop. The suspects refused to stop and continued down Mathis Ferry Road where they struck the roundabout at Hospital Drive.

The police statement said this rendered the vehicle disabled so both suspects fled on foot towards Southampton Pointe via the tennis center. Officers were able to set up a perimeter while K-9 units and officers searched for the suspects.

Shortly thereafter, officers were able to apprehend both suspects. EMS was summoned due to possible injuries sustained by one of the suspects in the collision. He was transported to East Cooper Hospital and released shortly thereafter.

Googe said the driver, Quinton Manigault, has been charged with Failure to Stop for Blue Lights, Reckless Driving,

Driving Under Suspension, Leaving the Scene of a Collision and six counts of NRVC which are unpaid traffic tickets. He also faces two counts of Burglary in the 2nd Degree.

Wesley Vanderhorst has been charged with 3 counts of Burglary in the 2nd Degree and Attempted Carjacking. The attempted carjacking stems from Vanderhorst attempting to take an occupied vehicle before his capture. Both suspects were lodged at the Al Cannon, Jr. Detention Center.
