WHAT: A free five-part learning series to educate caregivers of persons who have symptoms of Alzheimer's disease or related dementia. Taught by a dementia specialist with AllCare Living Servies, Inc. in partnership with USC Arnold School of Public Health.

WHEN: Tuesdays, Sept. 9, 16, 23, 30 and Oct. 14; from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Miss Mount Pleasant Pageant

What: The third annual Miss Mount Pleasant Pageant 2015, local prelim. to the Miss America Organization.

When: Saturday, Nov. 22

Where: Organizers are seeking a venue for the entire day.

Details: This year's pageant will be “closed” to a radius of 35 miles. Preliminary includes: Miss contestants (ages 18-24) and Miss Teen contestants (ages 14-17).

Awendaw Farmers and Crafters Market

WHEN: Saturday, Aug. 30, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

WHERE: Tractor Supply parking lot, 4765 North Highway 17, Awendaw, South Carolina
