With their 22nd season ready to get under way, the Crabpot Players Theatre Company has opened up registration for a variety of classes for all ages.
An Intro to Acting class will be held for ages 15 and up and will be taught by Daniel Prentice.
The class is perfect for anyone with little to no stage experience or a novice actor looking to brush up on their skills. Basic concepts such as blocking, vocal projection and stage movement will be discussed. Participants will construct pantomimes, short scenes and monologues to perform in front of the class.
Musical theater director Jennifer Proveaux is leading two sessions of a Music Performance class for those aged eight and up. This class will help musical theater students hone their musical performance abilities. Students will learn how to break down and analyze a song, interpret the surrounding musical influences on the text and will learn the differences in vocal requirements on the continuum of vocal performance styles.
Private voice lessons and vocal and dramatic coaching are also available, taught by Proveaux. Voice lessons, for students seven and older, will concentrate on whichever genre of music the student wishes to pursue. Focus will be concentrated on vocal technique, vocal health and care, performance, song analysis, repertoire selection and work towards self-sustaining performance ability.
Vocal and dramatic coaching is for anyone 13 and up with an upcoming audition or just looking to improve their performance ability in singing, musical theater or acting.
Classes will begin in September and run through the fall to December.
