Katherine Hendricks was recently appointed assistant town administrator of the Town of Mount Pleasant – the fourth-largest municipality in South Carolina and the ninth fastest-growing city in the nation.
Hendricks brings to the position five years of experience as the administrator for the City of Pickens.
“We conducted an extensive search, reviewing over 90 candidates and determined Katherine was the best person to serve as our assistant town administrator,” said Eric DeMoura, town administrator. “Katherine's experience in managing complex capital projects, in main street revitalization, in communicating with the media and the public, and in coordinating special events made her the perfect fit for this position.”
In her new role, Hendricks will oversee the Communications Office, the Government Outreach Office and the Cultural Affairs and Tourism Office.
“I am very excited about the opportunity to serve one of the finest communities in South Carolina. Mount Pleasant has long been a model for other local governments, and I look forward to contributing to this winning tradition,” added Hendricks.
Hendricks is a member of the International City Managers Association, Rotary International, and the South Carolina City and County Managers Association.
Hendricks lives in Mount Pleasant with her husband Trey.
