Cops and Kids Buddy Card program kicks off

  • Thursday, August 28, 2014

The Mount Pleasant Police Department (MPPD) launched the Cops and Kids Buddy Card program. By collecting the signatures of 10 police officers, kids get to interact with police officers and can even claim a prize at Town Hall.

The Buddy Card program builds on the community outreach efforts of the Reading Patrol, Blue Light Bowling and youth summer camps. Aimed at the youth of the community, these programs can make a true impact on children's growth, development and future success.

There is no age limit on collecting the cards, but Sgt. Mauldin expects them to appeal to elementary and middle school children.

Once they have collected the necessary signatures, children can claim their prize at the Mount Pleasant Communications Office, 100 Ann Edwards Lane.
