South of Broadway presents ‘The Nance’ in its first production since Broadway

  • Friday, August 29, 2014

The South of Broadway Theatre Company (SOBTC) is delighted to bring “The Nance” to Charleston.

This rowdy, yet edgy piece about the heyday of Burlesque hits all the marks from bawdy comedy to political drama, and does it with flair, passion and surprising insight.

Don't miss this exciting regional premiere by noted playwright Douglas Carter Beane.

Please be aware that this production features adult themes and language and brief nudity.

The producers of this show have commissioned a new musical score.

Composed by young Venezuelan composer and pianist, Abdiel Iriarte.

He is an award-winning musician and performer in Venezuela.

Iriarte will arrive in Charleston, score and music tracks in hand, to musically direct and play all performances.

Performances are at South of Broadway Theatre Company, 1080 East Montague Ave. (in the Olde Village Park Circle area), North Charleston.

Showtimes are Sept. 18-20, 25-27, 29, and Oct. 2-4 at 7:30 p.m. and on Sundays, Sept. 21 and 28 at 3 p.m.

All shows are $20.
