Police Blotter – Have another drink

  • Sunday, August 31, 2014

Police received a call from a gas station clerk who said a man had allegedly just entered the store and stolen some beer. Officers spotted a suspect walking down the highway and stopped to chat.

He was carrying a 12-pack of beer and according to the report had a strong scent of alcohol emanating from him. His speech was slurred and his eyes were red and glassy, the report said.

When asked what he was doing, according to the report, the man said he was going back to the hotel room. He said he stopped at the gas station to get more beer, the report said.

However, according to the clerk, he did not pay for the beer. The man was arrested for drunkenness in public only, because the gas station decided not to press charges, the report said. They just wanted the beer back. So, it was returned.
