Wando boys and girls cross-country swept the Coastal Carolina University Invitational Friday in Conway.
Wando's boys team earned first place by 52 points, while the girls team cruised to a 43-point win.
Wando placed eight runners in the top 11 spots of the overall boys standings, including Logan Veatch's first-place finish at 16 minutes, 51.94 seconds. The Lady Warriors took five of the top 12 slots, led by Rosa Marie Compton and Madeline Nelson who finished second and third, respectively.
The Warriors' average boys time of 17:36 is more than a minute faster than second-place Waccamaw. The Wando girls team's average time of 22:37 is nearly a minute and a half better than the second-place Waccamaw girls.
Jacob Spencer placed third in the boys standings for Wando, along with Luke Daniell fourth, Matias Montiel fifth, Patrick Spychalski sixth, Bradley Sanders seventh, Jarrod Bohr ninth and Andrew Burlos 11th.
Wando's Jamie Kase took seventh in the girls standings, Madison Paraskeva 11th and Elizabeth Turner 12th.
Wando travels to Spartanburg Saturday for the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind Eye Opener Invitational.
