Free wellness fairs, classes at S.C. BLUE stores

  • Thursday, September 4, 2014

The South Carolina BLUE retail centers in Columbia, Greenville and Mount Pleasant have added wellness fairs and new classes to the monthly lineup of events at the stores in September. These are all free and open to the public.

New on the calendars are “Health Care Reform 101” and “Health Care Reform: Understanding Subsidies.” These classes will help consumers understand their options within the health care reform environment. The “Health Care Reform 101” class gives a general view, and the “Understanding Subsidies” class dives further into explaining subsidies that help lower monthly premiums.

“Medicare Supplements: The Basics” also is new and focuses on Medicare supplement plans and prescription drug plan information.

The Wellness Fairs are drop-in events for the public that will include free health screenings, a healthy cooking class, an on-site pharmacist and goodie bags.

The cooking class theme for September is healthy tailgating tips.

Space for the classes is limited. People can review all class descriptions and sign up at www.scblueretailcenters.com/events. All events are hosted in the seminar rooms in the stores.
