Teachers in South Carolina only have a few more days to apply for the South Carolina Aquarium's Structured School Program. The application deadline for the program, which offers free programming to classes, is Sept. 5.
Over the past 14 years, the Structured School Program has served more than 103,000 students and trained more than 3,000 teachers from South Carolina. Last year alone, the program served more than 6,000 students and 450 teachers from 116 different schools representing 25 counties. Teachers who have participated in the standards-based program say it has been integral in educating their students.
Teachers are invited to submit an application by Sept. 5 to take part in the Structured School Program. At the close of the application process, forms are chosen at random through a lottery system. Programs will start mid-October and run through mid-May.
