Pam Hartley, founder of Momentum Marketing, announced that Ashton Szadek has joined Momentum Marketing as a new member of the company's Intern & Learn Program.

Szadek is a senior who will graduate from the Honors College of Charleston in May of 2010 with a B.A. in Corporate Communications.

Momentum launched its Intern & Learn Program in the fall of 2009. Hartley began the program to provide opportunities for local college students to get "hands on" experience applying marketing strategies to grow local businesses.

Interns are given the opportunity to work with specific clients to generate and distribute press releases and apply social media applications within different business contexts.

Interns are also given the opportunity to shadow Hartley and assist her in meetings and workshops, where she provides business consulting to a variety of clients in Charleston, Illinois, Georgia and Texas.

Lane Derby has joined the virtual sales offices of Beautiful Homes Realty of Charleston as a Realtor sales associate in Mount Pleasant. As a graduate of the University of Georgia and the Citadel MAT program, she was employed as a teacher in the Charleston County Schools for a number of years.

She also served as director of Operations for the Florida Keys Marine Institute helping delinquent teens achieve their high school diplomas. Derby has been a Realtor in the Charleston area since 1997.

Urban Edge Studio announced the promotion of Bill Eubanks to creative director, Russ Seamon to director of Projects, Zach Bearden to director of Client Services, Haley Weeks to urban designer and Cameron Clements to urban designer.

Eubanks is a licensed landscape architect with 28 years of experience. His new title reflects the flatter, more egalitarian structure of the studio, the ever-increasing roles of other studio members and Bill's focus on conceptual work, design charrettes and up-front planning efforts.

Seamon has 11 years of master planning and landscape design experience.

His new title reflects his day-to-day project involvement, functioning as a project leader and manages the strategic aspects of project design, deliverables and deadlines.

Bearden is a LEED Accredited Professional, licensed Landscape Architect in the state of South Carolina and a Certified Arborist by the International Society of Arboriculture. The change in title reflects Zach's on-going focus on community service, business development and marketing and product management.

Weeks has been with SW+A since 2006.

During the past three years, she has gained experience in master and land planning for both public and private sectors, while bringing graphic skills and creativity to the design team.

Clements was SW+A's first six-month intern and returned as a full-time land planner.

Cameron has participated in several design charrettes including the Coleman Boulevard Revitalization project for the Town of Mount Pleasant and the Commercial District Master Plan for the Town of Sullivan's Island.

Anita King, president of CREW Charleston and owner and lead Architect of Ink Architecture, announced that the Broad Street Branch of Wachovia Bank in Charleston recently donated $1000 to help support the Charleston Chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW). CREW is a nonprofit organization that provides education, mentoring and networking opportunities for women in the commercial real estate industry. CREW depends on donations from companies such as Wachovia to help support their growing foundation.

Following the acquisition by Wells Fargo, individual Wachovia branches were given the opportunity to select a local charity to support.

Liza Hall, store manager of the Broad Street Branch of Wachovia, expressed why the bank selected CREW as their charity of choice.

"Wachovia is dedicated to supporting women in the work force, and after meeting with the president of the local chapter of CREW, Anita King, we knew that it was a progressive organization committed to helping women advance their careers. It was something we were excited to support."

ServiceMaster of Charleston's Paul Johnston won ServiceMaster Cleans' National 3rd Quarter Residential Services Contest. A 15-year veteran with the company, he also won the 1st Quarter contest.

Johnston has earned the status of IICRC Master Textile Technician, which is the highest certification level that one in his career can achieve. Leading to his success begins with his relationship with customers and his high level of consistency in observation. Johnston received a $500 gift card and a letter from the Senior Operations Manager, Residential Services; ServiceMaster Clean.

Passarella & Associates, Southwest Florida's premier full-service ecological consulting firm, has expanded its service area and opened an office in Mount Pleasant.

Atlanticville's Executive Chef William "Billy" Condon won first place in the Oyster Recipe contest This was Atlanticville's first win in the competition in only their second attempt.

Condon's recipe featured South Carolina May River Pecan Fried Oysters over a smoked vidalia tomato fondue with lemon orzo pasta, country ham and tomato topped with crispy collard greens.

Condon said "We are grateful for this award. Atlanticville is once again demonstrating its place among Charleston's finest restaurants.

"Our customers enjoy an upscale dining experience without being stuffy. Our location on Sullivan's, great staff and Atlanticville's décor only reinforce this casual elegance."

John Barrett has joined RiverTowne Country Club and Patriots Point Golf Links as a golf sales representative.

He is a PGA Member and is also a real estate sales representative. Barrett will be selling corporate and charity golf outings for RiverTowne Country Club and Patriots Point Golf Links.

Additionally, he will be working with hotels in downtown Charleston as well as local golf package providers to help develop this business.
