With four locations in Florida, Guy Harvey, renowned wildlife artist, has opened a Guy Harvey's Island Grill right in the heart of Mount Pleasant. The Towne Centre location opened June 23 but will be celebrating with a grand opening cocktail reception on July 16 and the public is invited to meet the marine legend on July 17 around 12:30 p.m.
Mount Pleasant location marketing manager Stephanie Gibbs said, "We are a full-service restaurant with lunch and dinner. We have a variety of seafood and non-seafood items, and the seafood is all fresh."
Gibbs said the new restaurant is family-friendly and classified as "upscale casual" with a large outdoor patio and patio bar.
The restaurant will be featuring live music but they are still figuring out which nights are best for the community.
In addition there is a full retail store as Guy Harvey's Island Grill is one of the largest retailers in the world.
The on-site art gallery features full time curators in the gallery to discuss Harvey's work.
Harvey described his style: "Our restaurant features a selection of popular entrees served in a comfortable 'island casual' setting. The décor is accented with many of my original paintings and prints. As a conservationist, I have insisted that Guy Harvey's Island Grill does not serve patrons swordfish, grouper, Chilean seabass or any species of billfish or shark. By not consuming these overfished species, we are making individual contributions to the long-term improvement of these fish stocks."
Guy Harvey's Island Grill is located at 1102 Market Centre Blvd. in the Towne Centre of Mount Pleasant. The phone number is 843-606-9900 and hours of operation are every day from 11 am- 2am.
