Jan-Pro Cleaning Systems recognized with awards at conference

Jan-Pro Cleaning Systems, an internationally ranked leader in the commercial cleaning industry, announced that the company’s Charleston office, locally owned and operated by Robert Woods, was recognized with numerous awards at the company’s national conference recently held in Las Vegas. In addition to being the nation’s largest annual billing office in their comparatively sized tier group, Jan-Pro of Charleston was also named Office of the Year for 2009. This annual award is based on leadership and commitment to maximize net gain growth, sales performance and dedication to the company’s highest standards.

Upon becoming a Master Franchisee in 2006, Robert Woods has led local office operations to rapid growth, with success in every aspect of the business. In August , in a move that expanded the quality and scope of their operations, Jan-Pro of Charleston opened a brand new facility at 1321 Chuck Dawley Boulevard.

Paul J. Heinauer

Paul J. Heinauer, president                      of  Glasspro, recently returned as a guest instructor for Dr. David Houghton’s marketing management class at Charleston Southern University.  

Heinauer covered a variety of topics, including how             Glasspro develops and implements its own marketing strategy.

According to Dr. Houghton, chair of  the Department of  Business & Economics at CSU, “The students thoroughly enjoyed Mr. Heinauer’s presentation, which was not only entertaining, but also provided some insightful ideas and lessons for them.”

Heinauer commented, “The CSU students were very interested in how corporate marketing strategies are developed in a ‘real world’ context.  They were a very bright group of students with intelligent questions and perceptive comments.”

Glasspro operates nine retail auto glass repair and replacement facilities in the Lowcountry, including Mount Pleasant, Walterboro,  North Charleston, Summerville, Goose Creek, Georgetown, Myrtle Beach, Bluffton and a new repair center in Florence.

Dr. Schoderbek

Roper St. Francis Healthcare announced that Robert Schoderbek Jr., MD, has joined Orthopedic Specialists of Charleston, a member of Roper St. Francis Physician Partners.

Dr. Schoderbek earned a bachelor’s degree in biological engineering from North Carolina State University. He received his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). While completing his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Virginia (UVA), he was a recipient of the UVA Outstanding Junior Orthopedic Resident Award.

He then completed a fellowship in sports medicine at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Ala. where he studied with James R. Andrews, MD, who is internationally known and recognized throughout the world for his scientific and clinical research contributions in knee, shoulder and elbow injuries, and his skill as an Orthopedic surgeon.

Dr. Schoderbek currently serves as team physician for Wando High School. He resides on Sullivan’s Island.

SCBT has new location

South Carolina Bank and Trust cut the ribbon on its newest location in the Charleston area.

“Founded in 1933, we’ve been serving the financial needs of South Carolinians for more than 75 years.  We entered the Charleston market in 2006 at our Meeting Street location.  Our main office at 46 Broad Street opened in April of 2007 and we opened our James Island office in December of last year.  We are happy to now be a part of the Mount Pleasant community with the opening of our newest office here on Johnnie Dodds Boulevard,” said Arthur P. Swanson, SCBT Charleston regional president.  

Located at 1032 Johnnie Dodds Boulevard in Mount Pleasant, the new 2,800 square foot office will provide a full array of banking services, including commercial lending, mortgage lending, investments, and trust asset management.

To celebrate the opening of the new office, SCBT made a donation to the E.C.C.O., which as accepted by Ann Treanor Ward, director of development and Suzanne Flynn, board member.  The blessing of the building was delivered by Josh Surratt, pastor, Sea Coast Church.

The new office will include drive through banking, a night deposit and ATM.  Service will be provided by Kylee Eldenmuller, personal banker and tellers Sara Ball, Danielle Brown, and Michael Kapaldo.  Mortgage lending services will be provided by Cassandra Padgette, mortgage banker and Debra Gosner, mortgage loan processor.

17 North

Partners Chef Brett McKee (Oak Steakhouse) and Steve Palmer  announced the opening of their second joint venture, 17 North, located on Highway 17 in  Mount Pleasant.

The restaurant, which Palmer and McKee have dubbed their “roadside kitchen,” debuted on Nov. 1 and offers farm-fresh ingredients combined for an eclectic menu inspired by “moms all over the world” and Chef  McKee.

17 North is located at 3563 Highway 17 in Mount Pleasant.  The restaurant serves dinner Sunday through Thursday 4-10 p.m. and Friday through Saturday 4-11 p.m.

 SCI

Sport Conditioning Institute (SCI) has relocated inside Velocity Sports Performance at 411 Wando Park Blvd. in Mount Pleasant.  SCI, owned by degreed and nationally certified trainer Becky Geesaman, specializes in developing private and semi-private personal training sessions for adult clients intimidated by a typical fitness center.  

Monthly membership fees are waived for all SCI clients.

Doctors Cory and Chelsea Allen and their staff are announced the opening of Allen Family Dentistry in Mount Pleasant.
