Rotary Club of Daniel Island’s 2008 Charity Duck Race raises $120,000

The 2nd annual Rotary Club of Daniel Island’s Charity Duck Race, which included 15,000 rubber ducks being dropped off of the Wando Bridge, was a fundraising success. Including matching funds from The Daniel Island Community Fund, the Rotary Club of Daniel Island’s 2008 Charity Duck Race raised $120,000 for area charities and Rotary service programs.

The eight local charities benefitting from the funds raised at the 2008 Charity Duck Race were: The Boys & Girls Club of the Trident Area, Crisis Ministries, Down Syndrome Association of the Lowcountry, East Cooper Meals-On-Wheels, Friends of the Berkeley County Library, Good Neighbor Center, Hospice of Charleston Foundation and United Methodist Relief Center.

The five Platinum sponsors of this event were: Daniel Island Real Estate, Hanckel Marine, Home Telephone, Kia Country and Scout Boats.
