Carter and Arthur marry June 19
Mary Catherine Carter of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Robert Martin Arthur of Spartanburg, SC, were married June 19, 2010 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Mt. Pleasant, SC. Reverend G. Steven Plonk performed the ceremony. Janet Elshazly, organist, and Tyler Caruso, vocalist, provided the music. A reception followed at The Hibernian Hall.The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Fletcher Carter, IV of Mt. Pleasant, SC. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Henry Diedrich Schweers, Junior of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and the late Mr. Schweers, and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Fletcher Carter, III of Mt. Pleasant, SC.

She received a B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina and a Master's in Language and Literacy from the University of South Carolina. She is employed with Charleston County School District.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lee Arthur of Spartanburg, SC. He is the grandson of Mrs. Ralph Martin France of Spartanburg, SC, and the late Mr. France, and Mrs. Lee Duncan Arthur of Spartanburg, SC, and the late Mr. Arthur. He received a B.S. in Business Administration from Elon University. He is employed with Blanchard Machinery.

Betsy Carter, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. The bride's attendants were Leigh Amrhein; Katie Arthur, sister of the groom; Marifrasier Carpenter; Sarah Sass; and Logan Stout.
