Introducing Mr. & Mrs. John Ferguson



   Lisa Marie Ackerman of Mount Pleasant, S.C  and John Matthew Ferguson of Chapin were married December 8, 2007, at St. John's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Matthew O. Moye performed the 6 p.m. ceremony. Music was provided by Mrs. Kathleen Wilson, harpist, Mr. Todd Monsell, organist and Mr. David Michael Santiago, trumpeter. A reception followed at The Country Club of Charleston.

   The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Earl Ackerman of Mount Pleasant, is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Ruffie Ackerman of Mount Pleasant and the late Mr. and Mrs. Derwood Lorraine Aydlette Sr. of Charleston.

   She earned a B.A. in art history from Wofford College and a master's in early childhood education from the College of Charleston. She is a first grade teacher at the Daniel Island School, Daniel Island.

   The bridegroom, son of Dr. and Mrs. John Herbert Ferguson of Chapin, is the grandson of Mr. Herbert Harris Ferguson and the late Mrs. June Price Ferguson of Abbeville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Winfred Clement Sr. and the late Mr. Charles Cowan Plaxco of Due West.

   He earned a B.S. in biology from Wofford College and is a fourth year medical student at the Medical University of South Carolina. He plans to pursue a residency position in family medicine.

   Mrs. Mary Cromley Tibbetts was matron of honor. Attendants were Miss Kiri Nicole Ferguson, sister of the groom, Miss Nancy Legare Holmes and Mrs. Sarah Garth Tullo. English McMahan Black, Mary Elizabeth Nolte Moye and Emma Katherine Cuddy were flower girls.

   The best man was Dr. John Herbert Ferguson, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Mr. Jonathon Lennon Clements, Mr. John Simpson Kilgo III and Mr. Davis Christopher Pinner. Mr. Anthony James Broering, Mr. Kyle Walker Farley, Mr. Jeffrey Daniel Labban and Mr. Adam Holman Perrow served as ushers.

   A rehearsal dinner was given by Dr. and Mrs. John Herbert Ferguson on Friday at the Wickliffe House, Charleston.    After a honeymoon in St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands, the couple will reside in Charleston.
