Alison Leigh Thigpen and Kevin Richard Redar, both of South Bend,
Ind., were married Oct. 23 at Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church, in
Mount Pleasant, S.C. Reverend Gary L. R. Bullard Sr. performed the 4:30
p.m. ceremony.
Seung-Ran Pritchett, organist, William Royall, vocalist, and Regina
Helcher Yost, flutist, and Judy McCoy, harpist, of the Charleston Harp
and Flute Duo, provided the music.
A reception followed at Alhambra Hall.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willard McAdoo Thigpen of Mount Pleasant.
She
is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Marion Paglia, Sr.
of Mount Pleasant, S.C. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Willard McAdoo
Thigpen, Sr. of Burlington, N.C.
Alison is a graduate of Wando
High School and earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education
from The University of Georgia in 2005 and a Master of Music Education
with a Performance Certificate in Clarinet from the University of South
Carolina in 2007. She is an Assistant Band Director at the University of
Notre Dame.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard James Redar of Kouts, Ind.
He
is the grandson of Mrs. Therese Plemich and the late Mr. John Plemich
of Whiting, IN and Mrs. Bertie Redar and the late Mr. Anthony Redar of
Mount Vernon, Texas.
Kevin earned a Bachelor of Business
Administration degree in Management Information Systems from The
University of Notre Dame in 2001 and is a Senior Project Manager with
Press Ganey Associates in South Bend.
Katie Thigpen, sister of the
bride, of Cincinnati, Ohio, served as maid of honor. The bride's
attendants were Erica Morgan Von Nessen of Columbia, S.C., Ashley Willis
Ivanov of Riverview, Fla., Jennifer Paglia of Columbia, S.C., and
Christine Redar, sister of the groom, of Willowbrook, Ill.
Best
man was Tom Conklin of Allegany, N.Y. Groomsmen were Brian Redar,
brother of the groom, of Long Beach, Calif., Jeremy Joslin of Chicago,
Ill., Jimmy Thigpen, brother of the bride, of Mount Pleasant, S.C. and
Brandon Zabrocki of Portland, Ore.
A rehearsal dinner was given by
the groom's parents at Southend Brewery on Oct. 22. The couple will
honeymoon in the Southern Caribbean and will reside in South Bend, Ind.
