James Calvert Walk and Kathryn Paige Lewis were joined in marriage Nov. 13 at 5 p.m. at Honeywell Chapel in Mount Pleasant.
The officiant was Rev. Conrad 'Buster' Brown from East Cooper Baptist
Church. The groom is a 2008 graduate of The Citadel and is a Lieutenant
JG with the U.S. Navy. The bride attended Winthrop College. The groom's
parents, William and Patty Walk, from Paso Robles, Calif., hosted a
rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding at the Harbor View Holiday
Inn. The bride was given in marriage by her parents, Kreis and Sharon
Lewis of Mount Pleasant. In attendance at the ceremony and celebration
were Dorothy P. Bigger, from McLean, Virgina and Janet B. Lewis, of
Marietta, Ohio, grandmothers of the bride.
The bride wore a strapless gown of silk taffeta, made by Marissa.
The
gown had a sweetheart neckline atop a draped bodice with mermaid skirt.
Her bouquet was of ivory roses and white hydrangeas. Matrons of honor
were Victoria Kikut, from Huntersville, N.C. and Jill Malchiodi from
Marietta, Ohio, both sisters of the bride. Bridesmaids were Kathy Kut
and Haley Stafford. Best man was Billy Walk from L.A., Calif., brother
of the groom. Groomsmen were Ben Hammett, Aaron Thomas and Alex Kut.
Mother of the bride was escorted by Hunter and Anders Kikut, nephews of
the bride. Ringbearer was Matteo Malchiodi, nephew of the bride, and
flower girl was Avery Malchiodi, niece of the bride.
After a honeymoon in Cancun, the couple is residing in Virginia Beach, Va. with a transfer to San Diego in early spring.
