Do we really need to know what was said in the courtroom during Jenny and Mark Sanford's divorce proceedings? It would seem that after almost a year of non-stop media coverage on Mark's affair, and then a tell-all book, written by the "intimately private" Jennie Sanford, that the State of South Carolina and America have heard everything there is to hear.
At what point do we say who cares and move on with our own lives?
Sure scandals sell newspapers and ratings soar, but viewers and readers tuning in, won't learn anything they haven't already been made aware of.
All of the sordid details of their 20-year marriage and his long affair with Ms. Argentina have been put on public display for the self proclaimed voyeurs of the world out there to dissect and analyze. So much for keeping such personal issues private.
Why in the world does the final nail in the coffin have to be televised?

What does it mean when 12 candidates and counting are vying for one seat held by one man for 10 years?
Obviously folks in areas of Charleston, Berkeley, Dorchester, Georgetown and Horry counties wanted to see some change.
And when Henry Brown said he was not going to run again, the most random of citizens threw their hat in the rink.
The party primaries are June 8, with the winners facing off Nov. 2 in the general election. May the best candidate win. And may he or she promise not to serve four terms.
Fresh blood means fresh ideas.

Has anyone stopped to think about how much more money we will be spending to re-arrest these criminals when they offend again? Let us not forget the cost to go through another trial and then send them back to jail.
Rather than spending so much money to house each inmate a year, cut back on the luxuries so freely provided to them such as daily showers and three hot meals.
Cut back costs like the rest of us are having to do in our own homes and businesses.
