Do you know tee box etiquette?
The tee box is important and is an excellent place to start off on the right foot.
Golf etiquette suggests one person at a time on the tee box and no standing behind the person teeing off. Remember to pick up your tee after teeing off.
In business golf, the proper tee box behavior of respecting another’s space and position is important, as your manners and actions on the golf course are believed to be an accurate indication of your behavior and attitude in the office.
•Standing behind the person putting
You are playing golf as part of a business outing.
You are on the green, and a player in your foursome is putting.
You are standing behind him or her watching their putt to help you read the green for your putt. Is this proper golf etiquette?
It is not proper to stand behind the person putting. All players must move before the putt is stroked. After the ball is hit, then the players can move to an advantage spot to read the green.
Corporations often use golf as a means to find out about you, as in are you a team player, polished enough to know the rules and that you conduct yourself well enough to play on their team—their business team that is.
