But are we making sure that others can do the same?

Most of us enjoy having fun at a public recreational area with friends and family or even just a quite day to ourselves, and we want to make sure we allow others to have fun as well.

If we have moved chairs or benches to accommodate our group, or have brought food or items that were used and now considered trash, we want to make sure that we clean up the area and return it to the way we found it.

Showing respect for others by leaving the area the way we would like to find it, shows respect for ourselves as well.

Littering

Besides being down right rude, do you know what else littering is?

In many states, littering is not only an act of disrespect by those who do it, but it is also illegal.

For example, according to the Department of Public Safety, if you see someone throw litter out of a car window, you may use your cell phone and call the highway patrol or local law enforcement. You then give a description of the car, tag number, the trash thrown out and your location.

Making that call will help relieve your anger and will help with the authorities statewide champagnes’ to stop people from littering.
