Neighborhoods range from new developments and planned communities to the Old Village, a National Register district and the original town center. It is an outstanding location, surrounded by beaches the Charleston Harbor, and the salt marshes. Live anywhere in Mt. Pleasant and you will have no more than a 10 to 15 minute drive to the beaches on the Isle of Palms and Sullivan's Island. Sullivan's Island       1610 Middle Street   Sullivan’s Island, SC 29482   Telephone: (843)883-3198

The Town of Sullivan’s Island, a barrier island north of Charleston Harbor, is comprised of approximately 2,000 residents in half as many households. These are primarily full or part time citizens that enjoy the relaxed lifestyle of the Island. There are very few short-term rentals and no hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts, or other transient lodging.

The Town, incorporated in 1817 as Moultrieville, did not allow lean-tos or shacks then as now. At that time lots were required to have a minimum of 1Ž2 acre and the same is true today. Sullivan’s Island is unique in that the beachfront lands which have accreted over the years, are owned by the Town and held in a perpetual easement by the Lowcountry Open Land Trust protecting the natural environment along the Atlantic Ocean.

This Island has a long military history of protecting the harbor from invaders and there are many wonderful histories which capture those stories. Remnants of the military are abundant in now privately held military housing; even former fortifications are now single family residences. Many of these historic homes have withstood the test of time and ravaging weather.

Isle of Palms       P.O. Box 508   1207 Palm Boulevard   Isle of Palms, SC 29451   Telephone: (843) 886-6428

The Isle of Palms, an Atlantic barrier island, has prided itself on being a family beach that is the perfect blend of approximately 5,000 fulltime residents and 20,000 to 50,000 investment owners and visitors who make it their home and destination.

The entire 7-mile long and 1 mile wide island is an incorporated municipality. Having incorporated in 1953, the City recently celebrated its 50th Anniversary in a weekend long celebration that is still being talked about by those who attended. Attorney J.C. Long developed the island after World War II as an affordable place where service people could buy homes and raise a family. Some of those original families and their descendents are still on the island today.

Shopping is convenient with a grocery store and two shopping centers mostly containing gift shops, real estate rental businesses and restaurants.

At the northern end of Isle of Palms is the Wild Dunes resort, 1500 acres that offers residents and visitors two 18 hole golf courses, tennis courts and numerous pools. Wild Dunes has many private residences as well as condominiums often rented on the vacation rental market.

Home to a wide array of traditional neighborhoods with a diverse selection of homes, townhomes and condominiums, Daniel Island also offers residents access to hundreds of acres of parks, 23 miles of rivers and creeks and more than 12 miles of leisure trails. In addition, the POA enforces the rules and regulations put in place by the Covenants and is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of common island property like parks, leisure trails, swimming pools, boat launch ramps, greenspaces and other community amenities.
