A man went speeding down the Ravenel Bridge, right past a police officer. The officer stopped him and asked if he knew why he was being pulled over. The man replied, “because I was speeding.”

The officer asked if he knew how fast he was going and he said, “above the speed limit.” The officer agreed and told him that he in fact was going 79 mph in a 55 mph zone. The man however said that was not true and went on to tell the officer that he had only been down the street and was heading home. When asked for his insurance paperwork he fumbled passed it several times, even though it was in the stack of papers in his hand.

The officer knew the man was drunk and asked him to perform some sobriety tests to verify his hunch. They tried one test and the man passed, but swayed the entire time. So the officer asked the man on a scale of one to ten, how drunk he thought he was. The man replied, “a six or a seven.”

That’s all the officer needed.

And the fact that the man failed the last several tests, was enough evidence, too. He was arrested for DUI and the officer came across a bar receipt when he patted him down. It turned out the man had more than a couple of beers, such as two Grand Marnier, two vodkas, and one Bailey’s.
